We've recently been doing procedure text/writing. A procedure text is a text where it guides you through a game, or playing tag and a lot more. For my procedure text I did Cluedo! It's a game where you find the murder in the black sack in the middle, also you have to find out what he/she used in what room.

How to play cluedo

Today you will learn to play cluedo with 2 or more people

Goal: to  figure out the murder in the black sack in the middle 

What do you need?

The board game cluedo

2 or more people

1.  Set up the game board and put the miniature weapons from the game in random rooms and assign every person to different character

2.   Roll the dice(s),if you get the magnifying glass on the dice you get to pick a card that has a magnifying glass and say the red text, it helps you get clues to find the murder, the magnifying glass on the dice is 1 move, miss scarlett first then clockwize on the board

Today on may 17th 2021 we did stuff about kindness and giving compliments. First we did a game like musical statues but when the music stops you tell the closest person near you and say something you're grateful for.

After that we made some fortune tellers witch had to have compliment or something nice about them, to make it you need a a4 paper, a pencil, and coloring pencil's. First fold the a4 paper into a perfect square then rip the side of, secondly fold it diagonally in half unfold it then do it with the other corner on the top. Thirdly fold it in half and then do it with it other side, then you fold all of the corners in the middle, then flip it around and do it with the other side, then flip it around again, and there should be 4 flaps put your thumb and a index finger in two flaps and put you other thumb and index finger in the other 2 flaps, and there you have it.

Then we did a compliment circle where you had to tell someone a compliment about then sit down and the they do it to other people but you could only say that compliment once, so if other people say "your a good friend" you had to say something different. If someone's day is down give them a compliment to cheer them and there day day up :) . 

We did all of this because it is pink shirt week/day.

swimming at cameron pools

Today i am going to talk about swimming at Cameron Pools. When we enter first we had to get changed in the mens or womens bathroom, then when you put your swimming clothes on, and you put everything in you swimming bag and walk out.

Next you walk and wait for 5-15 mins and sit on the bench. When you get your name called out you will go to the teacher that called you and climb or sit and turn into the pool.

Then she or he guides you through the class. There will be stream lime with floaty board, and stream lime without floaty board, then armstrokes with floaty board then armstrokes without floaty board. after that you do backstroke or back kicking with or without the floaty board, and then a little funner type of swimming where you when you do 5 armstrokes you a rolly polly in the water.

When then class is finished you either climb out, or use the ladder. Then you get changed and go on the bus back to school and have lunch for 20 mins and then go play for 10 mins and go back to class and then go home.

On the 19 of March 2021 we had a Family Fun Day. The whole school was all split up  into 4 group: Kea (aka the best house group in waikowhai school), Ruru, Tui, and Pukako. We all went to different spot around the school, there was the slip'n'slide, wheels, a ninja course for kids, and a bounce castle with a water pool at the end. kea first went to the slip'n'slide, ruru did wheels, tui did obstacle course, and pukako did the bounce castle into a pool.

When kea went to the water slide the senior went to the slide and the middle school and under went to the pool. We all had 7 - 9 turns to go down the slide then it was the middles and juniors, then we swapped. 

Next we went to the bounce castle and i won all of the races. First in the obstacle course the was some horizontal cylinder then a pit then some cylinders with spike thing that don't harm you then some tunnels and a climbing wall. Then we went to the to the bouncy castle to a pool. 

And then we did wheels. i chose a bike because i know how to use one and i'm really talented. and also we had a cake sale

Duffy theatre!!!

OH NOOOOOOOOO...... thump!

Hello world!! on the 8th of April 2021 we had a Duffy theatre in the school hall and every year 3 or 4 people come to do a show with a theme, this years theme was covid-19 lockdown and Duffy.
 
It started with a fight when we were entering the hall but there was no incidents or bruises. The first thing they did was introduce themselves. There were 3 people acting for 10 characters, a pig, 4 chickens, aunty, mum, duffy, and scruffy. my favorite part of the duffy theatre was the start of the show when they were fighting and when he fell down the hole in the ground.

 I liked the fighting scene because I like action and fighting stuff so I liked it, also I liked when he fell down the hole because when he went down it he found some ancient Moa bones and if you ask me, i'm kinda a big nerd myself so I liked it too.
At the end I felt I related to it because I did not like online classes but I kinda did, and I did not like doing jobs around the house, and I did not like staying home but we have to do it for health & safety purposes.

under the wires for anzac day

under the wires 

As i enter the classroom, the teachers made trenches in the classroom and we could only come out until morning tea play or lunchtime play. First of all we did a basic facts test "under the wires". it was pretty stressful because miss jones, miss daly, and mrs sands played annoying army music and some of them and swear words in it. after that we had brain break "under the wires" and then we did something but i forgot.

the tsunami warning

On the 5th of march 2021 a tsunami almost passed through the east coast of the top half of the north island, and whoever was near the coast had to evacuate and get to higher ground. The most important thing of a tsunami is an emergency pack, an emergency pack is all of the necessity for an evacuation/disaster. For a emergency pack you at least need a

• torch
• a phone that is able to get disaster warning or government notifications so you know when the all clear signal comes
• long lasting foods e.g muesli bars, crackers, nut, etc
• umbrella
• medicine
• water
• first aid kits
• and bug repellent

 If you want you can put 

• books
• a rubix cube (if you have one)
• a jacket
• hat
• sunscreen
• and medicine for bug bites inside your bag. 

You do not want to put in

•  toast
• nothing that needs to be plugged into an outlet
• fruit
• and a tent.

our 4th lock down in Auckland

 Hello Bloggers :) 

It has been our 4th lock down In Auckland, Instead of 3 days we had to have a 7 day lock down, when It

got announced on TV I was happy because we have to stay home and do everything yourself and you

don't have to do it in order on the time table on the white board.

My favourite thing of lock down was f you finished all of you work you are able to do almost anything you

want, e.g gaming, eat snacks, family time, e.t.c, also my favourite school activity was maths because

the opportunities are endless and maths is everywhere In lock down when I was playing with my family,

we were playing Mario kart 8 deluxe me and my dad are the best at the game then my brother then my

mum. The game is Mario kart but there are more characters, game modes, options, Items, and the

graphics are better.

When I went back to school I felt good but in a bad way because I got to meet my friends but I also have to

do a lot of work, but we have to learn because it is part of the learning curriculum and if you do all of your

work you get smarter by 1 - 10 IQ. When you are a grown up you can solve every problem that comes in

your way if you have done all of your work when you were a child at school.

On Monday 30th of december we did an experiment with google art and culture. In it we doodle around with art we can mess with, there were pictures of watermelons and pyramids and even japanese art involving waves and broken boats in the storm of waves. here are some bundles of thing including who made it what my version looks like and the owners version looks like.

skateboarding yay

 On the Friday 13th ( which is a bad day "Friday the 13th") of November we went skateboarding.

The first trick they showed us was the turn trick if you tilt backwards you go right or the way you're leaning, and if you lean forwards the same thing. The other trick is the tic tac, where you have to put your back foot on the very back of the skateboard and push it down with your back foot and make your front foot make it easy for the back foot to push it and turn. Another trick is where you put your feet under the board and jump up and land on the board. And last of all we played a game called what's up wolf pack, it where you start at a certain point and then you have to chase the wolf to the end and get there wins, but if the wolf is near the end the wolf can say diner time so you can rush to the finish line and win win, also if the wolf sees you move when he looks back you got to stop or move back 4 steps.

I liked skateboarding because i leant 2 new tricks for skateboarding so now when I go on the go I can use the trick that they taught me.

mangere mt trip

On the 16th of Nov we went to Mangere mountain. When we went there we were greeted into the center with a karakia, after we got greeted we sang a song back to the people in charge. 

Then we, the te ana ako went first to go up the mt then Haumia

came along on the walk. First we were talking about the 3 volcanic craters, and talked about a person that tattooed people in the past so he is remember, and so you can't just go over the mt. Then we went to the 2 trees in the distance, and when we got there we sat on a carved bench and took a photo, and after that we went up more of the mt. When we were half way up we stopped to look at a plate and on it it has everything the people ate in the past, then we walked up more. When we were at the top we split up into two groups one going to the trig station (which was my group and another) and the other 2 groups (which was my friend group and another) went to the trees and an awesome view. Then we went down and went to a ruru which is a pit to story food. Then after that we went down and went to another plate with red soil and a plate over it, and then we walked down to the center. Then we ate lunch and and we made a pickaxe type thing and try some kawakawa balm and tea then we had to go back to school.

matariki day for waikowhai primary school

on the 23/7/20 at waikowhai we had matariki day and we did 3-4 different activities.

• the first activity kaiwhare did was making the first part of the matariki star, it was hard to copy the the star piece onto the piece of paper. everybody was struggling to do but we made through it.
• the second activity was that we make manu tukutuku/kite. it was fun the base was like a triangle and pieces of cardboard spread out and placed onto the the base and then you had to put on the string a tie up a shell, a clean shell.
• the third activity was two in one part the first thing we had to do was that we had to make a paper star using a guide. Then you use whai to play with to make pattern.

SLJ WK1 day 3 Activity 1 picking superpowers

on Wednesday 18 2019 Te Ana ako did a SLJ (summer learning journey) activity. i chose activity 1 because I get to choose our own superpowers. it was really cool to choose your own superpowers, here is what I chose.  I would choose flying so I could get around easily, and also I would have stunts/tricks for 30 minutes see how to do the stunts properly, also I would have all super Powers for at least an hour do any crime because I can multiply, but it has to charger for at lest 2 hour for the next crime or drink an energy drink to recharges my all super power to help citizens in the town
